すごいパティシエが作った美味しいチョコレートパフェを食べたら、どんな英語表現で説明する？
英語の表現は、声質やその言葉が持つ意味とリンクさせるとスッと頭に入ってきて、メッセージが伝わりやすくなります。
私は英語発音矯正レッスンをする時、生徒さんの声質や性格、好きなもの嫌いなもの、職業などその人が持つ性質を考慮して英文や単語を選んでいます。時には個性と全然違うものを練習することも必要だしやりますが、まずは英語の音や響きに違和感なく、英語らしい音やリズム、表現と一体化できた感覚を持てるようにすると、上達が早いからです。
というわけで、銀座の高級スイーツを英語で説明の英語を、ハリウッド女優の声で作ってみました。
声は、かつてはお嬢様女優として有名になり、今は実業家としても成功しているグゥイネス・パルトロウです。映画、「恋するシェークスピア」あたりは誰でも聞いたことがある名前なのではないでしょうか。
グウィネスといえば、セレブというか高級なものよく知っているイメージ。落ち着いた声で、ラグジュアリーで上品なスイーツや味についてのちょっと小洒落た表現にはぴったりな声質なので、選んでみました。

Culinary は馴染みがない人が多いと思いますが「料理の」と言う形容詞です。知らなくてもいいけど使えるとネイティブ、特にインテリの人に感心されます。

(Indulgent Treatを日本語にするのが難しいのでそのままにしました。
Indulgent は「寛大な」とか「心が広い」という意味で、treatは「もてなし」とか「待遇」とか「ご馳走」という意味があります。)
